Highlight Video Service

Many of our athletes ask us how to “get on the map” with college recruiters and the answer is always the same: you need to have a great highlight film. A highlight film will be your resume for college recruiters. What makes great production? A highlight video produced by recruiting specialist not video specialist. It is not a myth that college coaches will typically only watch the first 1-2 minutes of your highlight tape.  That means you have a very limited amount of time to put your best foot forward.  The tape needs to show your strengths immediately.  As recruiting analyst and Division 1A scouts we know what college coaches are looking for.  Sometimes a coach can pick something up in an incompleted pass that you never were able to show in a completed passes – we see those things.  It takes a lot of skill and a trained eye to produce these videos. Our analysts, who have mandatory Division 1A coaching and playing experience will produce your video. The highlight videos we produce for you are designed to get you a scholarship, we will also put your video on the number one website in the country for finding new talent SPORTS PRESS TV. Video service pricing starts at $150 to sign-up or learn more about our video service (click here)

THE TOP 5 THINGS COLLEGE RECRUITS DO WRONG

1. SUPERSTAR SYNDROME

The superstar’s dream: College coach shows up at your game the coach stops in the locker room afterward to say, "Good game. You think you might want to play for our nationally ranked program?" Player and coach talk for a few minutes with the promise to talk again. Later the coach shows up at the player’s home to court the parents. Phone calls and official visits on campus follow. The story culminates with the athlete signing a National Letter of Intent and a college athletic scholarship to play at the school of his or her dreams! Wake up your dreaming this isn’t the movies this almost never happens.
.

2.  WAITING UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE

Don’t wait until the last minute the time to start on your recruiting is your sophomore, junior and even your freshman year. The Earlier you start on your recruiting the earlier you can get on college coaches radar. Starting early significantly increases your chances of landing an athletic scholarship.
.

3. RELYING ON YOUR COACH

Your coach is one of your biggest assets in the college recruiting process. Often times, coaches have connections that can help you in your search. Don’t forget to use them as a resource; however don’t assume that they will do everything for you. You need to ask for their help and you will need to follow up with them. Remember that they have a lot going on in their lives besides you. They cannot help every player on your team get a scholarship it’s just too much work and it’s overwhelming. Few coaches will have the time too aggressively market you to colleges.
.

4. TAKING THE RECRUITING PROCESS FOR GRANTED

One of the most common pitfalls is taking the process for granted because you think that schools are going to aggressively recruit you. Many athletes receive letters from schools, but that doesn’t mean that they are recruiting you. You need to follow up with these coaches and express a mutual interest. Only a select few athletes actually get personal visits from coaches. It is simply too expensive and time consuming for coaches. Don’t take anything for granted and market yourself aggressively.
.

5. HIGHLIGHT VIDEO IS DONE INCORRECTLY

College football scouts and coaches are approached by hundreds and in some cases thousands of prospects. They must review hours upon hours of film. If your film is not done correctly then it doesn't matter how talented you are, they won't see it. Remember each year thousands of kids send film off to schools that never gets seen by a coach! It is important that your highlight film is done correctly.

EXPOSURE CAMPS
.
The SportsPressTV.com high school exposure camps is un- matched. There is the opportunity to be featured in the recruiting publication and website Sports PressTV.com. Remember, if coaches don't know you're out there, then you won't be able to get recognized for your sporting achievements. Many top athletes miss out on scholarship opportu- nities they would have had if they had their profile on our website.
