              Malcolm Brown  6' 1" 220lbs. RB 2011
Malcolm Brown is the kind of running back you might find in the scenes of a movie or a television show attempting to depict Texas high school football. A 6-foot-1, 220-pound workhorse back with a seemingly scientifically created blend of speed and power and surprisingly silky-smooth moves, the Cibolo Steele junior is a player most people would think only exists in a dream. But Brown, the No. 2-ranked prospect in the Inside Texas 2011 Top 100 and an ESPNU 150 Watch List member, isn’t a figment of someone’s imagination. He’s the real deal and he might just be the best class of 2011 running back in America. Steele head coach Mike Jinks has seen Brown do some special things during his time in high school as one of the top backs in the greater San Antonio area. Jinks remembers a specific moment early in Brown’s career where he realized his star runner was truly special. “It was probably a run against (New Braunfels) Canyon in his sophomore year when I knew there was something special about this guy,” Jinks said. “It was late
in the fourth quarter, 21-21 game, and their quarterback is playing both ways and he’s about 6-3, 215. It’s probably his 29th or 30th carry of the game and he stuck his foot in the ground, broke into the secondary and ran through him and went on in for the game-winning touchdown. At that point, I knew he had a chance to be great.” Brown has proven to be a great back which has made him the object of affection for just about every college football program in the land. There is a steady flow of college head coaches and recruiters moving through the football office at Steele on a daily basis as Brown is already holding double digit offers with Arkansas, Baylor, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Stanford, TCU and Texas A&M being among the many schools to extend Brown an early offer.
