Pierson Villarrubia  6' 5" 250lbs. OT 2012

Pierson Villarrubia has excellent tenacity. Watching him play, you get the feeling it is not enough for him to just block his opponents but that he wants to beat them. He plays the offensive tackle position with a nasty streak and is exciting to watch. He is a load in the run game and someone you can run behind. He makes very good initial contact and at times can be explosive and will knock a defender back. He gets good hand placement and displays good hand strength. Once he gets locked on, he is very tough to beat and will stay with a block until the whistle. He gets good

position, and displays good strength. Even when he does not have the best positioning, he displays the ability to stay with that block. He plays with good pad level and is more than capable of getting push in the run game. He can step down and wash a defender down the line. While he is a bruising blocker, he is not just a brute as he moves well for a big man. He has good feet and shows he can quickly adjust to a defender in a short area. He has excellent lateral movement he is able to get hands on a moving target. He is a good pass blocker that displays the ability to mirror a rusher. He has the ability to take on a rusher and anchor and hold his ground. He has decent size but has to add weight and bulk, we would not be surprised if he ended up as a guard at the college level. Pierson is a physical and productive lineman.
