             Preston Dewey  6' 3" 205lbs. QB 2012
Dewey is a guy that has a lot of positive qualities both as a thrower and athlete.  He has good size and may still be filling out and adding inches. He possesses a calm, poised demeanor and a smooth over-the-top, quick delivery. Plays in a multiple set scheme, works from under center and out of the shotgun and is asked to make throws to all three levels in the passing game as well as play-action and designated roll-outs. Carries the ball chest high and mechanically is extremely sound and consistent. Shows good feet and footwork away from center. Is a good ball handler, can freeze defenders and attack the middle of the field off play fakes. Dewey possesses a very good arm, has ability to anticipate and get the ball out on time is very good. Throws to a spot with 
confidence his WR will be where he is supposed to be and you can see he has very good command of the scheme. He is a guy that when he gets into a rhythm can get very hot. Shows good RPMs and because of timing and his release he can fit the ball into tight creases underneath and to some intermediate areas. Does a nice job throwing on the move to either side. Is a good enough athlete to get out of trouble and keep a play alive and will tuck the ball and run when necessary, but is not a dual-threat. As you watch Dewey he gets better and grows on you because his release is smooth and impressive.  Overall, Dewey's recruitment will start heating up in the spring and summer. He is a late-bloomer and has upside due to his physical tools that are going to be enhanced as he gets stronger and matures.
