DePriest is a versatile player with excellent playing strength and the speed capable of making big plays at any time. Has the size for the outside linebacker position at the major level of competition. As a running back he is tough into the line of scrimmage with an upright running style. Shows a little upper body stiffness but is very quick to K&D while displaying very good instincts. This is an all over the field guy; lines up in a variety of alignments, either on the L.O.S., walked off or as an inside backer in a run / pass blitzing mode. Demonstrates very good quickness; can pursue laterally and support off the edge; is quick to the outside with the ability to work through traffic.

Displays very good blitz timing; can fill front or backside with the quickness to beat blockers through gaps or take on and defeat offensive lineman. Can come off the edge, beat blocks with the low center of gravity and balance necessary to squeeze the off tackle play. This is a solid wrap tackler; has good balance in space and will punish the ball carrier when given the opportunity. Has a very good motor with excellent pursuit habits. We like his quick up field surge as an edge pass rusher; can beat offensive linemen with quickness and good change of direction moves while putting tremendous pressure on the QB with a great finishing burst. Many sacks and hurries. Will need to polish his coverage skills but does flash good underneath route awareness. Should be an early and productive special team's player! This is a very opportunistic player, capable of making momentum changing plays.
